German-Greek Civil Law Association
What we offer
Find out about our wide range of activities strengthening German-Greek relations in legal scholarship.
Scholarships for stays abroad
For decades, research stays and study abroad have been an established part of the education of many students and doctoral candidates.
To enable interested students and doctoral candidates to study and conduct research at German and Greek universities for an extended period early in their careers, we award scholarships supporting such stays in the other country.
In addition to study and research stays, we can also support participation in German-Greek academic conferences. Applicants should be interested in the legal system of the other country; knowledge of the language is an advantage but not required.

Mentoring programme
Our mentoring programme supports young Greek lawyers in planning and carrying out an academic or professional stay in Germany.
The aim is to give participants valuable insights and practical assistance through exchange with experienced lawyers, so that they can prepare and organise their stay in the best possible way. Our mentors are experts from various fields of law.
The programme helps with choosing the location, the university and the content of studies or training, so that the experience in Germany is as rewarding as possible.
Mentors remain available after the stay to help participants integrate their newly acquired knowledge and skills into their further career.
Participants who wish to deepen their training with a particular focus on German law can benefit from the mentors’ expertise and experience.
Research grants
Beyond stays abroad, we also support research and teaching at German and Greek universities.
Our grants are intended to facilitate binational comparative law research projects and to make their results available to the wider academic community. Please feel free to contact us about a specific project at any time.
Events, seminars and lectures
Exchange requires regular meetings between lawyers from both countries.
We therefore organise academic conferences, seminars, lectures and informal meetings in Germany, in Greece or online on all areas of civil law.
